Cosmetic Thread Lifts

Cosmetic Threads

Lift and tighten everywhere! Les Encres Cosmetic Threads are an exciting new addition to the tool box at Glam + Glo Medical Aesthetics Lounge. They meet an unmet need in aesthetics in that they actually lift the soft tissues of the face and neck with a basic, in-office procedure with little to no downtime and with excellent results for loose and sagging skin – to restore the “V” shape of the face. With this innovative treatment, the lower third of the face – being more challenging to treat with Botox® or fillers – can be restored to its younger contours with long-lasting results.

Delivering a more natural, youthful looking result with less downtime.

What is Cosmetic Threading?

Les Encres Cosmetic Thread treatments are a less invasive alternative for rejuvenating the face, neck, and body. Results are achieved with considerably less downtime as well as decreased risks for complications and adverse reactions. Patients are able to return to work and their daily activities quicker and without the scarring and trauma associated with previous “lifting” treatments and without many of the risks associated with dermal filler techniques.

Who is a Candidate?

Patients with skin laxity and crepiness respond well through the promotion of collagen stimulation. Patients with large body habitus or thick skin/tissue are not ideal candidates for the thread lifting. As with any cosmetic procedure, it is important to manage patient outcome expectations. Les Encres training ensures that your team of professionals is well equipped to communicate all aspects of the procedure to your patients including benefits and risks.

Is Cosmetic Threading Safe?

Polydioxanone sutures have a long and safe record of use in surgical settings, they are absorbed by the body, do not cause harmful physiological damage to tissue and are easily tolerated by most patients.  That same technology has finally transferred to aesthetic medicine and Cosmetic Threads are quickly becoming mainstream. As a safe and effective method to stimulate collagen growth, Cosmetic Threads provide you with the opportunity to treat the elusive mid-face area, give your patients a natural looking correction to gravitational ptosis and increase the efficiency of multiple treatment modalities.

What to Expect When Having a VI Peel

It is recommended you stop using products containing a Retinal (Retin-A) for at least two weeks before your treatment. We will cleanse your face (or neck, chest) to removal oil and dirt. The peel is relatively painless, but for those who are more sensitive may feel a mild to moderate burning sensation. Over the counter pain medication can be taken to minimize discomfort. A topical anesthetic is also an option. The VI solution is applied in two phases. The first penetrates into the skin cells on the skin’s surface, and the second penetrates deeper into the dermis. The treatment time will take anywhere from 20-45 minutes. The solution will stay on for 4-5 hours before you wash it off at home. You can resume your regular daily activities upon leaving our office.

What to Expect After a VI Peel

The chemicals in the VI solution will continue to work even after you have washed your face for a period of 24-48 hours. Your skin will begin to peel around day 3 and continue for a total of 1-3 days. By day 5-6 peeling should be completed. Skin may have red, brown or yellowish tone during the peeling process. Most patients say it looks like they have a mild sunburn that is flaking off. Your skin will more more susceptible to damage from UVA/UVB rays, so we urge you to use a high quality SPF 50. Any chemical peel will make your skin more susceptible to damaging UVA/UVB rays, so the use of sunblock SPF 50 is recommended. VI Peels can be repeated every 3-4 weeks until desired results are achieved. It is also a great peel to have done as part of your ongoing skin maintenance. We recommend having a VI Peel during the fall and spring.

Once your skin has healed from the peel, you should notice improved clarity, tone, and a more luminous glow.
